Philip Shaibu said Oshiomhole has hijacked APC
The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has joined his boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki to resign from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mr Shaibu announced his exit from the party on Tuesday.
“It is with great pain that I am leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) that I helped and laboured to build as a result of the recklessness and absolute lawlessness of Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, the suspended APC National Chairman,” he said.
Oshiomhole’s “undemocratic and dictatorial tendencies exhibited at all time has become intolerable,” Shaibu added.

“The APC has been hijacked for some personal and selfish interests of an individual called Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.”
Shaibu also pledged to “stand with the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseko. Anywhere he is taking his political ambition to, I, Comrade Philip Shaibu, will follow him.”
Recall that Governor Obaseki announced his resignation from the party on Tuesday after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari in Abuja.
The development follows the inability of Obaseki and Shaibu to clinch the party’s ticket to seek re-election in the State’s Governorship election scheduled for September.
