Tottenham’s hopes of securing a place in the top four dims
Jose Mourinho’s side Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United’s encounter on Friday night ended in a one all draw.
The Mourinho’s side initially led the match before Bruno Fernandes scored a late goal in the dying moments of the game, managing to salvage the team against Tottenham.
Spurs took the lead after 27 minutes. Steven Bergwijn collected a loose ball just inside the Man Utd half and drove into the box before releasing a powerful shot that David De Gea could not keep out of the goal post.
Paul Pogba stepped off the bench to help derail Jose Mourinho and Tottenham’s hopes of catching Manchester United in the race for the Champions League places, scoring a penalty for Bruno Fernandes to cancel out Steven Bergwijn’s opener.

After a series of United chances, the Frenchman skipped past Eric Dier and the Spurs defender brought down his opponent for Bruno Fernandes to convert a deserved equaliser from the spot.
A victory for Mourinho’s men would have closed the gap between Spurs and United to leave one point, but the draw leaves the visitors a point ahead of Sheffield United in in fifth and well-placed to push for Champions League qualification.
Tottenham’s hopes for a place in Europe’s elite club competition is quickly fading into thin air.
