The police arrival was said to be connected to the controversy which was on the ground before Ajimobi was buried. It was said that authorities in Oyo State made it known that bodies were not to be buried in the area but because of the status of the late governor in the country, permission would be granted.
It was also said that the presence of the police could just be a means to protect the surrounding from hoodlums who might want to cause havoc or conflict while the burial was going on.
The order to man the building was said to have come from the police headquarters at Abuja and the decision was made to ensure there was looting of any sort from the building.
