…Agboola Ajayi asks court to stop Ondo State House of Assembly from impeaching him
The Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja against the Ondo State House of Assembly over an alleged plot to remove him from office, due to his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Ajayi has been at loggerheads with his boss, Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu which culminated to his defection in June.

The embattled deputy governor filed the suit through his legal counsel, I. Olatoke wants court to resist the legislators in the impeachment proceedings against him. He also seeks court injunction to protect his fundamental right of association.
The suit further lists the Inspector General of Police, State Commissioner of Police, State Security Service (SSS) and the Speaker of the Assembly.
Agboola has been recently screened to contest for gubernatorial election in Ondo State under the aegies of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
