Nigeria recorded new 416 COVID-19 infections, death toll nears 300
As far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned, Nigeria crossed the rubicon a long time ago.
On Monday, the number of COVID-19 infections went farther north of 10,000 with 416 total new cases reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
Although this shows that the country is nowhere near flattening the curve, the authorities on Monday released new guidelines that would see the economy completely reopened.
Out of the 10,578 cases, 3,122 have been discharged with 299 losing their lives.
Data from the NCDC showed that the cases were spread across 19 states and the FCT, with Lagos accounting for the highest number of infections for the day with 192 cases.
