…Netflix to produce an adaptation of Shoneyin and Soyinka’s literary works
Netflix, Global Internet Entertainment Provider has on the 12th of june, 2020 announced its partnership with EbonyLife TV in order to produce two original television series.
They made this known to the public on their official Twitter handle.
This partnership will allow Netflix produce more African and even Nigerian content.

The company will produce two Original series; Lola Shoneyin’s The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives and Wole Soyinka’s Death and the King’s Horseman, and other branded films.
This kind of partnership is the first of its kind and Nigerians are quite excited and cannot wait to have it. This partnership is one that would bring African storytelling to the fore and would also help to promote African literature which could be said to have suffered a setback due to the coming of the colonial masters.
There are many reasons why this partnership will favour Africa and Nigeria. It would be rewarding to the Nigerian and African creative sector, Mo Abudu, founder of EbonyLife TV says.
