NCDC reports show death tole rise to 469
Nigeria is currently in the second phases of easing lockdown restrictions, but the results of the decision appear to be more infections as the spread of the novel coronavirus infections intensifies at the community level.
On Wednesday, Nigeria recorded 587 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the nation’s total infections towards the 18,000 mark, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control tally released on late Wednesday.
The agency, in a tweet, stated that the country has now confirmed at least 17,735 cases of the novel coronavirus with 469 deaths and 5,967 recovered patients.
Out of the new infection, Lagos recorded the highest number with 155 new infections, while Edo State followed with 75 cases and the FCT, with 67 cases.
