Aviation company apologises for transporting “a bunch of useless people”
Following the indefinite suspension of the services of Executive Air Services, the airline had written to the federal authorities explaining that it flouted the COVID-19 protocol for airlines only because they mistook their passneger for Nigeria’s Minister of Works Babatunde Fashola.
The passenger, a Nigerian Nigerian hip hop artist popularly known as Naira Marley, accidentally shares a similar surname with the former Lagos Governor, Babatunde Fashola, making it easy for the former to pass for the minister without detection by the airline.

Although the airline is now bearing the brunt of their actions, it insists it was no fault of their as Naira Marley used the name of the Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola to get approval from the company.
In a poorly-worded letter by the company’s CEO Dr. Sam Iwuajoku and addressed to the Minister of Aviation, the airline apologised to the authorities but explained that Naira Marley had only been flown under the impression that it was the honourable Minister of Works going for a scheduled meeting in Abuja.
