…LUTH refused treatment on litigation grounds
The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) has allegedly turned away an 18-year-old who was a victim of rape.
The young girl was said to have been raped by a dispatch rider in a shop where he had gone to pick up some goods. The girl is a salesperson in the shop and she was alone which gave the man the opportunity to carry out his evil intention.
After she was found by her boss, they proceeded to the hospital (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) where she could receive treatment. But to their utmost shock, they were not attended to because they were understood to be pressing charges against the dispatch rider and thus PEP medications could not be administered.
They were asked to drop the charges before the young woman could receive treatment.
The dispatch rider who committed this dastardly act was said to have left the shop before any intervention. He is a 45 year old man and yet to be identified.
