…Wearing of face masks is compulsory
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has suspended the lockdown in the state.
He announced this on Thursday while giving an update on the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).
He also introduced compulsory use of face masks in public places, while banning street hawking and begging.
According to him, the graduating students are allowed to resume to schools, and government workers from Grade Level 12 should return to their duty posts from Monday, July 6, noting that the official hours should be observed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Ganduje explained that it is important to fully activate the economy following a drastic reduction in the recorded cases of coronavirus.
He however warned that the government will punish any resident who violates the wearing of face mask. He advised the elderly from age 55 to stay at home, as they more susceptible to COVD-19.
