All schools in the nation were shut down in the month of March
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says that it will be suicidal to reopen schools now.
The union said given that the ongoing pandemic has resulted in the death of over 500 persons across Nigeria, if at all schools are going to be reopened, the government must put strict measures in place.
They also said thet the governement must meet up with the conditions laid down by the Federal Ministry of Education.

The National President, ASUU, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi made this known to the public on Monday.
He also said that the government must provide the means lsid down by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) before reopening schools across the nation.
Speaking further, the President said that the health of children would be put at risk if they resume without necessary preventive measures already put in place.
He urged the government not to leave the public health in the hands of individuals, rather, they should face it completely.
