Manchester City defeated Arsenal 2 goals to nothing at their clash on Wednesday, maintaining their dominance against the Mikel Arteta’s side despite an impressive showing in the better part of the first half.
Raheem Sterling delivered the opening goal within the 47th extra minutes of the first half when he exploited David Luis shoddy defence to hit the back of the net. Sterling’s goal came after he failed to convert a fantastic chance at the 38th minute.
The second Manchester City goal, scored by Kevin De Bruyne was a penalty resulting from a hard tackle from defender David Luis, which also earned the experienced defender a red card.
De Bruyne’s replacement Foden finds the net in the 90th minute to make it third goal, piling on Arsenal’s woes.
